5 Biggest College Football Upsets For Week 5

.
Thomas Campbell- USA TODAY Sports

We're not here to talk about the past. We're not here to talk about Boise State falling in the final minutes by one point against Fresno State; we're not here to talk about Arkansas blowing a three-touchdown lead in the second half. No we're not here to talk about the past, so let's look ahead to Week 5 of the College Football season.

This week we have our classic SEC conference game underdog that has seemed to become a stable of these picks. We also have an SEC team who is on big-time upset alert on the road this week to a team you may not know much about. We also finally have a certain team in Ohio that should be feeling pretty uncomfortable right now and not just because they live in Ohio. Also when I say "we," I mean "my cats".

In order to ensure the best upset picks, you need a guy who can dedicate hours of his life researching each individual game, breaking down even the tiniest details like what brand of socks are the players wearing. Nike socks seem to be fashionable, but they decrease speed. You need a guy who has no social life and can dedicate himself to the lifestyle of finding football upsets in between taking his mom to Sizzler and cleaning the cat box. Luckily, you have that guy in me.

So, read on and find out who my five biggest upsets are for this fifth week of College Football. I'm like a walking Subway jingle.

#5 Buffalo Over UConn

.
Kevin Hoffman- USA TODAY Sports

Buffalo is only a half-point underdog, so betting wise this is not a very big upset, but it is to people who just know sports on a regular level. I mean, UConn has the brand name everyone knows and Buffalo has wings. This isn't a pick based on how good Buffalo is as much as how bad UConn is, and coming off an emotional game against Michigan, UConn is in for a hangover loss and an 0-4 start.

#4 LSU Over Georgia

.
Derick E. Hingle- USA TODAY Sports

LSU I feel is the best team in the SEC, so of course I am going to go with them here even with the trap Las Vegas has set with them as three-point underdogs (Las Vegas would never trick people). Yes, that gives you pause, but when you can get a team as good as LSU as an underdog, it's usually a good idea to go ahead and take them.

#3 UCF Over South Carolina

.
Matthew OHaren- USA TODAY Sports

UCF pulled off my called upset over Penn State, and so I am rolling on the train again. UCF has quietly been one of the more solid College Football programs over the past decade and have really peaked this year, South Carolina is a bigger, tougher opponent, but have a horrible habit over the years to blow games they should win. UCF at home is not an easy game and Central Florida is in great position for an upset.

#2 Wisconsin Over Ohio State

.
Jeff Hanisch- USA TODAY Sports

Wisconsin and Ohio State always play thrilling games. Any Ohio State fan thinking this Saturday's game is going to be easy is in for quite a surprise. A recent quarterback controversy doesn't help matters although admittedly both QB's are extremely good, Wisconsin always has a knack for playing big in big games, and this may be the biggest they are going to get. I look for a stunning upset here.

#1 Colorado Over Oregon State

.
Ron Chenoy- USA TODAY Sports

Colorado has had two weeks off which can either be a really good thing or a really, really bad thing. I am going to lean on it being a good thing. Oregon State's defense is shaky at best and look for Paul Richardson to continue his ridiculous season torching their secondary. Colorado is +11 for a reason, but Oregon State is a perfect team to predict upsets against because of their lack of defense and dependency to their offense.
