Fresno State vs. Idaho: Game Preview With TV Schedule

The Fresno State Bulldogs beat the Boise State Broncos on their way to a fresh appearance in college football’s top 25 for week five and six. The Bulldogs are 4-0 and could be 5-0 if it weren’t for the postponement of their week three matchup with the Colorado Buffaloes.

On the other side of the field, the Idaho Vandals are sitting at a disappointing 1-4 and it will take just a couple more losses to be completely out of contention for a bowl game. This team needs to get it together — and fast — if it wants to make a push at the postseason.

Fresno State has one of the top quarterbacks in the nation that no one talks about in Derek Carr. In fact, he leads the sixth best pass offense in the nation with 1,445 yards and 14 touchdowns through four games. It’s hard to stop this passing attack when he has so many solid targets to throw to. Isaiah Bruce and Davante Adams lead the way with 629 yards and six touchdowns combined on 65 catches.

Idaho has been mediocre on offense this season, scoring just 15.4 points per game. In fact, they have been so poor on offense that they have been outscored by an average of 23 points per game. Chad Chalich has been the lone bright spot on offense with 1,111 yards passing and four touchdowns while also rushing for nearly 200 yards — including a 100-yard performance in his last game.

Defensively, the Vandals are one of the worst defensive teams in the nation, allowing an average of 38 points per game — and they haven’t played the best competition in football. The Bulldogs have also allowed over 38 points per game — let’s just say they are known for their offense.

Fresno State will travel to Idaho to take on the Vandals at 5 p.m. EST on Saturday, Oct. 5. Check your local listings for the broadcast channel.

PREDICTION: Fresno State 48, Idaho 14
