Week 7 in the MAC provides some very good matchups in the conference this Saturday. For teams that have struggled, it offers the opportunity to erase their previous disappointments and focus on getting a much deserved victory. The top teams in the conference will look to keep the momentum going and stretch their lead in the division with the hopes of making it to the championship game in Detroit.

The MAC will have the opportunity to face off against the SEC this weekend. The Bowling Green Falcons travel to Starkville to battle the Mississippi State Bulldogs. The Falcons have the conference’s best defense and will try and knock off the Bulldogs and move to 6-1 on the season.

There are three winless teams (Miami (OH), UMASS and Western Michigan entering play this weekend. However, one of them will get a victory on Saturday, as Miami (OH) travels to UMASS to play the Minutemen.

Northern Illinois and Ball State boast the league’s top two scoring offenses. The Huskies are averaging 42.2 points per game and the Cardinals are averaging 41.3 points per game.

Northern Illinois, Bowling Green and Ball State are the top three offenses in the MAC. The Huskies are averaging 529.6 yards per game , the Falcons are averaging 480.8 yards per game and the Cardinals are averaging 478 total yards per game.

It should be a very interesting weekend of games and there will be upsets waiting to happen. That is why they play the games. Here are the predictions for this weekend.

Ohio is coming off a strong performance on the road last week. The Bobcats were able to rush the football consistently last weekend against Akron and have been playing very well defensively over the last three weeks.

Buffalo is playing very well defensively and is riding a three-game winning streak. The Bulls will move to 4-2 on the season this Saturday.

UMASS 7 Miami (OH) 3

This game features two of the worst offenses in the MAC. Miami (OH) fired its head coach Don Treadwell this week and must travel on the road. The UMASS Minutemen will be prepared to get their first victory of the year this Saturday.

Ball State is coming off an impressive victory last weekend. The Cardinals have the 22nd ranked scoring offense in the nation averaging 41.3 points per game. Ball State is averaging 337.5 passing yards per game.

Akron plays their best when they travel on the road. Look for an inspired effort this weekend against the Northern Illinois Huskies.

Bowling Green has the best defense in the MAC. The Falcons are giving up 296.6 total yards per game and is 15th in the nation in scoring defense giving up 16.5 points per game.

Army is averaging 325.5 rushing yards per game. Eastern Michigan is yielding 212.6 rushing yards on defense and will have a very difficult time slowing the triple-option attack of the Cadets.
