5 BCS Teams Who Will Have Their Bubble Burst

BCS
Mark L. Baer - USA Today Sports

Through seven weeks of the college football season we have seen some excellent games, some fantastic finishes and a ton of surprises. There are still 13 undefeated teams ranked in the top 25 of the AP poll, but with a ton of games left it's hard to envision too many of them going through the entire season undefeated.

Some of the undefeateds are the teams that everyone would expect to be here all along. You have Alabama, Oregon and Ohio State, three of the best teams in college football last year, right back where they finished. But you also have teams like Baylor, Texas Tech and UCLA shocking many by still being undefeated as we hit the slate of Week 8 college football action this weekend.

We've seen nearly perfect performances all season long from quarterbacks Marcus Mariota, Jameis Winston and Teddy Bridgewater. We've seen Johnny Football still being Johnny Football, and we've seen Aaron Murray and Georgia finally win the big game, only to lose another one.

All in all I'd say it's your typical college football season. And the best part about it is it still has a couple of months to go. With so many great matchups anything can happen and the rankings could completely change each and every week. All 13 remaining undefeated teams and even some of the one loss teams still have BCS National Championship aspirations, but obviously not everyone can make it. Whether it be because of a tough schedule or just not getting it done when it matters most, here are five contenders who will choke by season's end.

5. Missouri Tigers

Missouri pulled off a huge win when they were able to upset Georgia last week. That moved them all the way up to No. 14 in the country, but it came with a price as they lost quarterback James Franklin with a separated shoulder. They still have Florida, South Carolina and Texas A&M on the schedule, making it a difficult road to the end.

4. Miami Hurricanes

The Canes have been a bit of a shock starting 5-0 including a win over the Florida Gators. They are ranked No. 10 in the country, but I am not ready to believe Stephen Morris will be able to win at Florida State and against Virginia Tech back to back to guide this team to a title game.

3. LSU Tigers

LSU already suffered a loss to Georgia this season, but they still find themselves ranked No. 6 in the AP poll. The Tigers still have to face Johnny Manziel and travel to Alabama to take on the Crimson Tide.

2. Oregon Ducks

OU

Marcus Mariota and the Ducks' high powered offense has been truly remarkable this season. Mariota is running away with the Heisman as he has his team ranked No. 2. They host UCLA and travel to Stanford in back to back weeks which could lead to the Ducks going down.

1. Florida State Seminoles

The No. 5 ranked team in the AP poll, Florida State, has its toughest task of the season as they will travel to No. 3 Clemson this Saturday. Freshman sensation Jameis Winston will have his toughest task yet with the Tigers' D, and I think they will get to him and force him into a couple mistakes.
