Related: Huge Win Already Paying Dividends for Florida State Seminoles

In a big surprise, the Florida State Seminoles jumped ahead of the Oregon Ducks in the BCS computer polls as the second-ranked team in the country. It is well deserved. The Seminoles and freshman wunderkind Jameis Winston went on the road in a hostile environment and shellacked the third-ranked Clemson Tigers.

Clearly, style points were in play here. As it stand right now, Florida State would meet the  powerhouse Alabama Crimson Tide in the BCS National Championship Game. This would be quite the intriguing matchup.

Winston vs. Nick Saban‘s near-NFL caliber of talent on defense would be a game for the ages. The Ducks may still have something to say about that no. 2 ranking though. The Ducks have two games against highly ranked teams over the next few weeks and if they win in highly impressive fashion like the Noles did, things could get interesting.

There is not much the Ducks have done wrong to deserve the demotion, but the Noles have simply played their way into the top contender to face the defending champion Crimson Tide. It should be a fascinating next couple of weeks in college football. Winston and Mariota, two mega-talented quarterback prospects, will try to win their way to have the right to play Bama, assuming the Crimson Tide take care of business.

Both of these kids will be the biggest challenge Alabama has faced in quite some time. They are both destined to be very high draft picks at the next level. The first round goes to the Noles, but the Ducks aren’t done fighting yet.
