Pac-12 Previews and Predictions for Week 10
Pac-12 Previews and Predictions: Week 10
Week nine of the college football season featured some solid Top-25 matchups and two of those came from the Pac-12. The Oregon Ducks took on the UCLA Bruins at home and it was expected to be one of the best games of the season in the conference -- and it started out as such. The game was tied at 14, but the Ducks just found a way to run all over the Bruins and win the game 42-14 in impressive fashion. I think it's time we start anticipating an Oregon versus Alabama Crimson Tide national title game.
While the Ducks might be the best team in the conference by a long-shot, the Bruins are still one of the elite in the Pac-12 as well as the nation. Although they dropped out of the Top 10, the Bruins are poised and looking to take down whoever stands in their way for the remainder of the year. The first opponent who is in their way is the Colorado Buffaloes who are having a rough go of things in 2013 although they tripled their win total from 2012 already -- with three.
The Oregon State Beavers and Stanford Cardinal posted the other Top-25 matchup for the week as the Cardinal snuck out a close victory on the road against a talented offense in Oregon State. While the score was relatively close, it was clear that Stanford was the better team throughout. The Cardinal get a bye in week 10 and will be looking forward to a huge matchup with Oregon on Nov. 7.
It's too bad week 10 doesn't feature any top games between ranked teams because the Pac-12 is starting to garner some major respect, nationally. The Ducks, Cardinal and Washington Huskies are off in week 10, but the national attention will be back on the Pac-12 come week 11 when the Cardinal and Ducks square off.
Take a look at the Pac-12 previews and predictions for every week 10 game.
Arizona State at Washington State
Arizona State has the potential to be a Top 25 team, but for now, Taylor Kelly and the Sun Devils will just torture the Washington State defense.
PREDICTION: Arizona State 42, Washington State 27
USC at Oregon State
Oregon State will take out the frustration of a rough loss against Stanford a week ago on the Trojans in week 10. Sean Mannion will face a tough USC defense, but he will rebound with a big game.
PREDICTION: USC 21, Oregon State 30
Arizona at California
These two stellar offenses will have no problem putting up points on each other while the defenses will suffer. However, Arizona is just a tad more experienced and talented than Cal.
PREDICTION: Arizona 34, Cal 31
Colorado at No. 20 UCLA
The Buffaloes are starting a freshman quarterback -- that's never good against one of the top teams in the nation. The Bruins will rely on Brett Hundley's arms and legs to lead them to a huge victory over the awful Colorado defense.
PREDICTION: Colorado 13, UCLA 37
