Jameis Winston Being Investigated for Sexual Assault Could Derail Heisman Hopes

The 9-0 Florida State Seminoles are reeling off victory after victory, hoping to get themselves positioned for a National Championship bid come Bowl time. One of the biggest reasons why they are in the position they’re in is due to the play of freshman quarterback Jameis Winston.

“Famous Jameis,” as he’s referred to by many, has had the season he could have only dreamt of coming into his first year at FSU. He’s passed for 2,661 yards and a completion percentage of a whopping 69.2 percent. Tossing 26 touchdowns to only seven picks, Winston has been the very definition of outstanding thus far. He’s also gotten it done on the ground, rushing for three touchdowns this season.

In a turn for what could be the very worst, we have learned via TMZ that Winston is now being investigated in a case of a felony sexual assault. Law enforcement and other sources from this report have stated that a woman filed a sexual assault complaint with the Tallahassee police department on December 7th, 2012.

The police report stated that the motive for the assault was “sexual gratification.” There was said to be drinking involved in this scenario as well, according to the victim — surprise, surprise.

On the day in question, police report said, the police were called at exactly 4:01 a.m.. When they arrived, there were photos taken of the alleged victim’s injuries. There was also physical evidence collected at the scene.

Winston has already been interviewed, according to the report by TMZ. The incident occurred in an apartment and Winston was described as “muscular” and his demeanor as “polite,” again according to the police report.

If this case proves Winston the culprit, there is undoubtedly going to be some backlash including his being kicked right out of the Heisman Trophy race. With a case like this surrounding his name, his stock might already have taken a plunge with the evidence gathered.
