The UCLA Bruins defeated the Washington Huskies 41-31 after scoring 20 points in the first quarter alone. UCLA is a team that is known mostly for its talented offense, but the Bruins’ defense stepped it up and forced four turnovers in a must-win game. Because of this win, the PAC-12 South remains in UCLA’s sights.

Next up for the Bruins is the extremely talented Arizona State Sun Devils. Arizona State leads the PAC-12 South over UCLA by one game. Taylor Kelly and the Sun Devils’ losses have come by the Stanford Cardinal and Notre Dame Fighting Irish; the Bruins have lost to Stanford and the Oregon Ducks. Neither team has lost to a bad team this season, so this game will be a must-win game for two very similar teams.

UCLA quarterback Brett Hundley has proven himself to be able to be a capable college quarterback, but the key factor for this game will be the true freshman linebacker Myles Jack, who rushed for four touchdowns against the Huskies. He’s a one of a kind player that could give the Arizona State defense a lot of problems.

The Bruins may have expected to put up a fight against Oregon and Stanford to be in the National Championship talk, but those hopes are long gone. Now, every game is must-win for the Bruins, because if UCLA wins out, they go to the PAC-12 Championship game and have the opportunity to go to a BCS Bowl. An appearance in a BCS Bowl for this young team would do wonders for not only their confidence going into next season, but bring in recruits who might be deciding between other PAC-12 powerhouses.
