Rant Sports Week 13 Official College Football Top 25 Rankings
Rant Sports College Football Top 25: Week 13
The college football season is surprisingly coming to an end and it seems like it just started yesterday. Teams are starting to look BCS title-worthy while others are looking like pretenders and nothing more. Some teams are making last-second pushes toward a BCS bowl and one of the top spots in the nation.
Coming into week 12, the top five teams in the nation looked to be set in stone for the remainder of the season until the unthinkable happened. The Stanford Cardinal were upset on Saturday night against the USC Trojans on the road and it was a tough pill to swallow for the Cardinal as they were on track to contend for a BCS national title. What was more surprising about the loss is that it came just one week after the Cardinal defeated the No. 2 team in the country, the Oregon Ducks, in surprising fashion.
This gives new life to the Oregon Ducks in the BCS title race as they are now nearing a top five ranking once again and if a few losses occur ahead of them, they could be headed to the big game when nobody even gave them a chance after losing one game.
The Alabama Crimson Tide, Florida State Seminoles and Ohio State Buckeyes keep winning and it looks like these three teams might just be unbeatable this season while the Baylor Bears are creeping into the top five and making a strong push at Ohio State's spot in the rankings.
Week 12 was somewhat uneventful as there was some shuffling in the Top 25 and the rankings might look a bit different as some teams have dropped out while other teams have risen to the occasion and cracked the Top 25 rankings.
Take a look at who the experts at Rant Sports chose as the Top 25 teams in the nation.
25. Ole Miss Rebels (7-3)
It's that time of year when three-loss teams start making it into the Top 25. Ole Miss destroyed Troy and won their fourth straight game to make it back into the rankings.

24. Minnesota Golden Gophers (8-2)
Minnesota is still in the running for a division and Big Ten title -- much to everyone's surprise. If they win out, including the final game of the season against the division-leading Michigan State Spartans, they will have a chance to head to the Big Ten title game if the Spartans lose out. Could be an interesting couple of weeks.
Last week: 25
23. Arizona State Sun Devils (8-2)
Arizona State has won five in a row and six of the past seven games. Week 12 saw them take down the talented offense of Oregon State, holding the Beavers to 17 points.
Last week: 22
22. USC Trojans (8-3)
The Trojans are looking like a different team ever since Ed Orgeron took over as head coach. After an upset of the Stanford Cardinal on Saturday, the Trojans athletic department might want to consider hiring Orgeron as the full-time head coach.
Last week: NR
21. Oklahoma Sooners (8-2)
Oklahoma bounced back from a tough loss to Baylor with a huge win over Iowa State, 48-10.
Last week: 21
20. Wisconsin Badgers (8-2)
Wisconsin beat down the Indiana Hoosiers and it wasn't pretty. The Badgers improved to 8-2 on the season, but will likely miss out on the Big Ten title game unless Ohio State loses out.
Last week: 20
19. Central Florida Knights (8-1)
Central Florida almost gave Temple its second win of the season, but pulled off a late-game miracle to win again.
Last week: 19
18. Louisville Cardinals (9-1)
Louisville might make it back to a BCS bowl, but it will need some help from the teams ahead of it in the rankings. The Cardinals might not even be the best team in their own conference.
Last week: 18
17. LSU Tigers (7-3)
The Tigers got a bye week following the devastating loss they suffered against the Alabama Crimson Tide. They had a good run in the SEC, but a conference title is not in their future.
Last week: 16
16. Michigan State Spartans (9-1)
Michigan State keeps on winning and it looks like a conference title appearance is in their future. The Spartans might give the Ohio State Buckeyes a run for their money.
Last week: 17
15. Northern Illinois Huskies (10-0)
Northern Illinois beat Ball State in a conference showdown of the two best teams in the MAC. The Huskies destroyed Ball State and proved they are the top team in the conference.
Last week: 14
14. UCLA Bruins (8-2)
The Bruins beat up on the Washington Huskies on Friday night and it looks like they will clinch an appearance in the conference title game if they win the remainder of their games.
Last week: 15
13. Fresno State Bulldogs (9-0)
Fresno State might now lose this season and it's all due to the level of competition they play. Easy schedule means easy wins.
Last week: 13
12. South Carolina Gamecocks (8-2)
South Carolina squeaked one out against a tough Florida Gators team and the Gamecocks' conference title hopes remain alive.
Last week: 11
11. Oklahoma State Cowboys (9-1)

Last week: 12
10. Texas A&M Aggies (8-2)
The Aggies got a bye week after beating Mississippi State in week 11. Texas A&M will need to figure out how to play defense if they expect to contend for a BCS game.
Last week: 10
9. Stanford Cardinal (8-2)
The Stanford Cardinal just dropped their second game of the season in upset fashion and it looks like a BCS title is now out of reach.
Last week: 4
8. Missouri Tigers (9-1)
Missouri will need to win its last two games in order to make an SEC title game appearance and it looks like it has a favorable schedule to do so.
Last week: 9
7. Clemson Tigers (9-1)
Clemson won't win the ACC title, but they have solidified the No. 2 spot in the entire conference after Miami fell off the map and the ACC has been weak this season.
Last week: 7
6. Auburn Tigers (10-1)
The Tigers have won seven consecutive games and now have 10 wins on the season. No one saw this team coming on this strong.
Last week: 8
5. Oregon Ducks (9-1)
Oregon might just climb back into the BCS title talks after reaching the top five thanks to a Stanford Cardinal loss.
Last week: 6
4. Baylor Bears (9-0)
Baylor is approaching the BCS title conversation after a nice win over Texas Tech on Saturday night. It looks like Baylor might just be for real -- contrary to what everyone was saying a few weeks ago.
Last week: 5
3. Ohio State Buckeyes (10-0)
Ohio State has now won 22 straight games and it looks like they might just win out until the Big Ten title game. A matchup with the top defense of Michigan State will be intriguing.
Last week: 3
2. Florida State Seminoles (10-0)
Florida State might never lose again as it toppled Syracuse 59-3 on Saturday afternoon. The Seminoles are looking like a BCS title team.
Last week: 2
1. Alabama Crimson Tide (10-0)
Alabama, no surprise here, is still No. 1 in our polls at Rant Sports as well as polls around the nation. With a favorable schedule remaining, a win in the SEC title game will send the Crimson Tide to a BCS title for the fourth time in the last five years.
