Florida State vs. Idaho: Game Preview With TV Schedule
The Florida State Seminoles are in the best position they could possibly be to make a push at a BCS title appearance. Jimbo Fisher has the Seminoles playing at the highest level in seemingly decades and it looks like unbeaten Florida State will be giving the Alabama Crimson Tide a run for their money in a couple months.
On the other side of the field, the Idaho Vandals will likely be no contest for Florida State as they are just 1-9 on the season. They are tied for the last spot in the Independent standings and with one lone win against another team with just one win on the season, Idaho can chock this season up to poor play.
Florida State’s star quarterback, Jameis Winston, was in the midst of a filthy scandal this week, but it looks like he will overcome the rumors. He did so a week ago as Florida State continued to roll over lesser opponents. Winston is the Heisman front-runner and it’s evidenced by his 2,938 yards and 28 touchdowns on the season, hitting Rashad Greene 54 times for 860 yards and nine touchdowns. Kenny Shaw isn’t too far behind with 42 catches for 721 yards and three touchdowns. Devonta Freeman leads the 32nd-ranked rushing attack with 679 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Idaho has not been particularly good in any offensive category this season. The only area where they haven’t been totally invisible has been the passing game led by quarterback Taylor Davis. The senior took over for Chad Chalich about a month ago and hasn’t looked back, passing for 854 yards and six touchdowns although his completion percentage is below 50. Dezmon Epps doesn’t care who throws him the ball because he just keeps on making plays, catching 66 passes for 811 yards and four touchdowns on the season.
Defensively, the Vandals rank an awful 125th in points allowed per game while also ranking a not-much-better 118th in yards allowed per game. Florida State, on the other hand, ranks third in points allowed as well as fourth in total yards allowed per game — this one could get pretty ugly.
Idaho will travel to Florida State to take on the Seminoles at 3:30 p.m. EST on Saturday, Nov. 23. The game will be broadcasted on ESPNU.
PREDICTION: Idaho 0, Florida State 63
