The Baylor Bears desperately needed two teams in front of them to lose. Instead, they got blown out by a solid Oklahoma State Cowboys team and their chances of making the BCS title game are over.

Baylor has been one of the best teams in college football all year long. The Bears may have only beaten one ranked opponent on the season, but they just now lost their first game. Oklahoma State is currently ranked No. 10 in the BCS standings, so it is not like this is a huge upset or anything like that.

The Bears have arguably the No. 1 offense in the sport, but they were outscored 49-17 against the Cowboys. Only allowing 17 points against this Baylor offense is pretty impressive. Baylor is averaging 61.2 points per game on the year.

Making the national championship game or not, Baylor has to close out the season on a good note. It still has two games left in the regular season and it must win both so it can land in a solid bowl. TCU should not be problem, but Texas will provide a tough challenge as it is 7-3 on the year.

It is too bad that Baylor could not finish the season undefeated, but it has had a great year regardless.

The Bears are now 9-1 and there is probably no way that they can sneak into the national championship game. That was a long shot before the loss to the Cowboys. Still, winning a Big 12 title and making a good bowl game should be on Baylor’s mind.
