It looks like the Alabama Crimson Tide are the favorites once again to win their third straight BCS title game under Nick Saban and their fourth out of the past five years. Alabama is the top team in the nation right now and they will be playing in the most anticipated Iron Bowl in recent memory.

Nobody saw the Auburn Tigers competing like they have been in 2013 after such a down season in 2012 in which they finished 3-9 under Gene Chizik. Now with a new coach at the helm, the Tigers look like a completely different team, sitting at 10-1 and competing for a nation title.

Alabama, as stated earlier, as the best team in the nation and it looks like they will be the team to take it down before it wins its third straight title. AJ McCarron has been one of the most consistent quarterbacks in the nation for the past few years and that’s thanks to his two titles and him being on the verge of a third. He has passed for 2,399 yards and 23 touchdowns on the year while connecting with Kevin Norwood 33 times for 493 yards and six touchdowns. T.J. Yeldon leads the rushing attack with 1,022 yards and 12 touchdowns on 6.2 yards per carry.

Auburn has not had a very solid passing attack this season although Nick Marshall has been the leader of this team at quarterback. The Tigers rank 104th in the nation in passing yards per game behind Marshall’s 1,530 yards and nine touchdowns, but he’s a dual-threat who also has 823 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground where he’s more effective. Sammie Coates has been his favorite target, connecting with the wide out 30 times for 687 yards and five scores. Tre Mason leads the run game with 1,153 yards and 17 touchdowns on 5.5 yards per carry.

Defensively, the Crimson Tide are one of the best units in the nation — as they are seemingly every year. Alabama ranks first in the nation in points against as well as third in the nation in yards allowed per game. Auburn is not as impressive, ranking 30th in points allowed per game to go along with an 86th-ranking in yards allowed.

Alabama will travel to Auburn to take on the Tigers in the Iron Bowl at 3:30 p.m. EST on Saturday, Nov. 30. The game will be broadcasted on CBS.
