Ranking the BCS Top 20 Cheerleading Squads

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

With the end of the regular season of college football, it is that time of year where rankings are made. While everyone applauds the efforts of all those football players who committed an inordinate amount of blood, sweat and tears to their team and coaches so that college football fans throughout the country can be entertained, some believe that the cheerleading teams play as important a role in entertaining the fans as the players do. It is with this in mind that Rant Sports offers to you the 2013 BCS Top 20 Cheerleader Rankings.

These blue chippers practice long hours and train year-round. They are there at each game, including bowl games. They travel all over the country to support their teams even though they won’t have million-dollar NFL contracts waiting for them at the end of their career.

They do it for the love of school and team. They are at each pep rally and sacrifice so much so that the team will be encouraged to battle and so that the fans might be moved to make some noise, to chant D-E-F-E-N-S-E, and to state for all to hear who is No. 1. They inspire many a young girl to don the team’s initials on their cheek, and they inspire many a young man to begin lifting weights, behave politely, and dance even when it makes one very uncomfortable.

So, here it is, without further ado, the Rant Sports BCS Top 20 Cheerleader Rankings for 2013.

Enjoy the show.
