5. Jameis Winston

Winston probably won’t hang around Tallahassee beyond the 2014 season, but Florida State knows that they’ll have the reigning Heisman Trophy winner for at least next season. Even if the supporting cast isn’t the same, having Winston next season puts the Seminoles in position to steamroll the ACC once again and make a strong argument for being chosen for the four-team playoff. If Winston leads Florida State to a second straight ACC Championship -- and possibly a second straight undefeated season -- the Seminoles will have built up enough momentum in their program to carry them for years after Winston leaves.

4. The Rest of the ACC

At the moment, there are few teams in the ACC that can even come close to matching up with the high level of talent at Florida State. Clemson was the closest this season, but they have to replace the incredible offensive trio of Tajh Boyd, Sammy Watkins and Martavis Bryant, which will be difficult to do no matter how well the Tigers have recruited. Miami has shown signs of reclaiming their glory days of the past, but they’re not there yet and remain far behind their in-state rivals. Most of the other programs in the ACC are average at best, which is why the Seminoles were so dominant in 2013. Unless programs like Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Syracuse, Boston College or N.C. State can improve considerably and create more competition for Florida State, the Seminoles will continue to breeze through their conference schedule on a yearly basis.

Florida State is already set to sign a top-5 recruiting class in 2014, and after winning a National Championship they should be able to lock down a top-5 class in the next couple of years as well. That will keep the talent level extremely high in Tallahassee for years to come. Moreover, the Seminoles had one of the top recruiting classes in the country in 2011, and that group of players will be seniors in 2014. While they’ll likely lose a few players from that class to the NFL, Florida State will still have a strong senior class that will give them a great shot to win another championship in 2014 while continuing their dominance in the ACC.

2. Charlie Strong Leaves Louisville For Texas

Louisville is entering the ACC for the 2014 season, and at the moment they look like a team that could challenge Florida State on a yearly basis in the ACC Atlantic division. However, Charlie Strong leaving Louisville for Texas is a game changer for the ACC. Without Strong, the Cardinals may become just another team in the ACC that doesn’t stack up against the Seminoles, meaning it’ll be easier for Florida State to continue its dominance.

1. Jimbo Fisher

In four seasons since taking over for Bobby Bowden, Fisher has done an incredible job of bringing Florida State back to prominence. He has a 45-10 record, two ACC Championships and now a National Championship. More importantly, he’s built a program whose success is sustainable over a long period of time. With Charlie Strong going to Texas and Fisher getting an extension, it’s likely that he’ll remain at Florida State for the foreseeable future, enabling him to continue the success he’s had over the past four seasons. With Fisher at the helm, the Seminoles aren’t going to slow down anytime soon, and that is going to make it difficult for any other team in the ACC to stop them from dominating the conference for years to come.
