Auburn Mistakenly Makes Player Profile For 5-Star Alabama Commit Rashaan Evans
With 2014 National Signing Day now upon us, college football’s elite recruits are now making their decision on where they will be playing football in 2014 and beyond. One such recruit is five-star linebacker Rashaan Evans from Auburn, Ala., who was deciding between the Alabama Crimson Tide and Auburn Tigers.
Many people were starting to think the hot commodity and defensive stud was set to choose the Tigers over the Tide because of something that was posted on Auburn’s official athletics site. Check out what was leaked about 30 minutes prior to Evans’ big decision.
Evans’ player profile was leaked on the team’s official site and it looked almost certain that the five-star LB was going to choose the national runner-up over powerhouse Alabama.
That was, until Evans chose the Crimson Tide and shocked every fan who relied on the team site’s official player page for the incoming freshman. The kid is going to be a star one day and Auburn was really hoping that he would take the field for the Tigers. They wanted him so badly that they even made a profile page for him.
This is probably going to be one of the most embarrassing mistakes in the future years as it will sure stir up some rivalry talk and ignite some fire under the Auburn faithful.
Yeah, remember that time you put our star linebacker’s player profile on your team site before he even committed? Yeah, that was a pretty bad idea.
I guess the moral of the story is don’t make guarantees in college football recruiting.
