Just when you think the Florida State Seminoles couldn’t get any better, they add yet another top prospect to their class of 2014 which is ranked No. 4 by Rivals at the moment. The Seminoles and head coach Jimbo Fisher have added five-star wide out Ermon Lane who was previously committed to in-state foe, the Florida Gators.
Lane, a 6-foot-3, 193-pound wide out, has added to a class that has already locked up 30 commitments with three five-stars and 14 four-stars. As the nation’s top team in terms of play on the field, the Seminoles are starting to show just why they won a national title — Fisher has locked up a top recruiting class in each of the past four seasons.
Jameis Winston has been in the news a lot lately regarding his decision to play baseball for Florida State as well, but he will be in the news because of his excitement over the commitment of Lane.
The five-star wide out will add yet another weapon to one of the nation’s scariest offenses and will make the opposition have to game plan for multiple solid wide outs some top-tier talent at the running back position as well.
How good will the Seminoles be in years to come? Well, if they keep recruiting at this pace, they will be a national title contender — easily — for every season Jimbo Fisher is head coach.
Flipping a Florida commitment from a hard verbal to the Gators in August to a letter of intent signee for Florida State in February was a tough job, but Florida State is becoming a powerhouse and they can do that.
Well done, Florida State.
