Every year, a Division I football program has to deal with an athlete who graduates or leaves early to go to the NFL. It's rare though, that a school has to replace a guy who made a great impression in his first season and who many thought was a sure-fire future NFL wide receiver for something as surprising as flunking out of school. Temple has to deal with just that prospect, and the Owls went out and recruited five potential replacements.

5. Derrek Thomas

Derrek Thomas has the size (6-foot-4, 185 pounds) and the speed to match Anderson, but his senior year production might be a little suspect, with only 15 catches for 446 yards and four touchdowns. That could be the byproduct of a wishbone attack that Bishop Mcginn (NY) ran this year. Thomas is a mid-year signing who is already at Temple.

4. Matt Eaton

Matt Eaton also has the size (6-foot-4, 200 pounds) of Anderson, and his production (44 catches for 785 yards) was even more impressive than that of Thomas.

3. Derrick Ingram

At 6-foot-1, 193 pounds, Ingram is a little faster than both Thomas and Eaton, and his production for Thomas Jefferson High in Tampa, FL is impressive (23 catches, 599 yards and 10 touchdowns). Jefferson plays in one of the toughest leagues in the country, known for feeding stars to SEC school.

2. Delvon Randall

Delvon Randall is a great athlete who is smaller than most of the other incoming recruits (6-foot-0, 190 pounds) and comes to Temple ranked as the No. 33 player in the state of Pennsylvania. He finished the 2013 season season for Gateway High (near Pittsburgh) with 26 catches for 458 yards and five touchdowns.

1. Ventell Bryant

Also from Tampa's Jefferson High, Ventell Bryant finished the 2013 season with 34 catches, 756 yards and 11 touchdowns, despite having to share the catches with future Temple teammate Ingram. This one-handed catch was typical of the type of catches Anderson made all last season for Temple, and if Bryant can make these catches the norm rather than the exception, Owl fans might forget all about Robby Anderson.
