College athletics do not have the best reputation lately. People have been talking about how college football and basketball are tainted and ‘dirty’ because of all the behind-the-scenes deals and illegal benefits being handed to some players. Pat White is the latest to come out with an accusation of his own, claiming the Alabama Crimson Tide offered him a Corvette during his recruiting process about 10 years ago.

Do you remember who Pat White was? The athletic quarterback from the West Virginia Mountaineers that was one of the top prospects in the nation during his high school career and he was supposed to be the next big dual-threat QB? Yeah, well he’s just the latest athlete to make a claim about a school offering illegal benefits.

White posted this to his Facebook on Wednesday night and the college sports world took notice.

Pat WhiteThe post was an article that he shared about a current Alabama recruit that just got a new car — and it seemed like a pretty pricey acquisition.

White made the claim that he was offered a Corvette by the Crimson Tide, but turned it down to become a Mountaineer. I wonder what West Virginia offered him to turn down a Corvette. Okay, all jokes aside, this just proves that college athletics are completely tainted — as if we didn’t already know.

We don’t know if that Alabama recruit was given the car during his recruitment. Although Nick Saban didn’t recruit White, it’s not unbelievable to think that handouts would happen in any and every college football program.

Thanks, Pat White, for showing us that college athletics will forever be tainted.
