The Georgia Bulldogs will return most of their starters from last year's team, but they still had several key players depart. Whether it be due to graduation or transfer, the Bulldogs have lost several players since the end of the 2013 season. Here is a look at five key players who will be looking to fill some big shoes this season.

Although Kolton Houston only had six starts last season, the offensive lineman will be expected to have a bigger season in 2014. Houston will look to replace Kenarious Gates at the offensive tackle position. Although Gates was not a star, he was very reliable. He finished his career with 33 consecutive starts, and Houston will be expected to fill that role this season.

The Bulldogs lost one of their anchors on the defensive line in Garrison Smith due to graduation. Smith served as the heart and soul of the defensive line. He started 13 games last season and finished with 63 tackles. Toby Johnson will be expected to step in and fill Smith's role. Johnson has the ability to play either inside or outside.

Jay Rome will need to step up in 2014, because the Bulldogs will be without Arthur Lynch. Lynch was selected by the Miami Dolphins in this year's draft. Rome came to Georgia as one of the top tight ends in the country, and the Bulldogs will need him to start living up to expectations for Hutson Mason.

2. J.J. Green

Josh Harvey-Clemons was dismissed from the Bulldogs' football team this spring. Harvey-Clemons had some troubles off the field that led to his departure. The Bulldogs will need J.J. Green to step in the starting role at the "star" position. He has all the athletic ability in the world and should succeed in Jeremy Pruitt's defense.

The one player for the Bulldogs' who will obviously have the biggest shoes to fill is Hutson Mason. Mason will be the Bulldogs' starting quarterback after Aaron Murray left for the NFL. Murray ended his career as one of the most prolific passers in SEC history. Mason won't be able to put up the numbers Murray did, but the new starter doesn't need to. Hopefully he can just manage games.
