The Oklahoma Sooners look to build upon last year's Allstate Sugar Bowl victory over the Alabama Crimson Tide. The first order of business will be to replace several instrumental seniors on both sides of the ball. These five players have the inevitable task of replacing these Sooner greats.

Ty Darlington steps in to replace All-Big 12 center Gabe Ikard. Darlington has a few starts under his belt when Ikard was injured. He needs to be ready to peform early on. Oklahoma breaks in a new stable of running backs this season, meaning the coaches will need Darlington to take charge of the offensive line like Ikard did.

Dominique Alexander replaces a fixture at outside linebaker in Corey Nelson. Nelson was a four year starter for the Sooners. The good news is Alexander has the potential to be a All-Big 12 performer, too. He just needs to get out of Nelson's shadow.

How do you replace an all-conference shut down corner like Aaron Colvin? Dakota Austin has the first crack at trying. Austin is a former two-star athlete who saw limited action in 2013. Not only does he have to replace Colvin, he will need to hold off several talented freshmen gunning for the job.

Fans saw a glimpse of the future when Derrick Woods made an acrobatic catch in the Allstate Sugar Bowl. He will have to make many more catches like that to help Sooners fans forget Jalen Saunders. Woods is the man tasked with replacing Saunders and his 61 catches and eight scores.

1. Keith Ford - Running Back

Oklahoma's top three running backs in 2013 have graduated. Keith Ford is the team's top returning rusher with 134 yards. Last season Bob Stoops relied on his senior backs while the Sooners sorted out the quarterback position. He won't have that luxury in 2014, and all eyes will be on Ford to help replace the trio's 1,857 combined rushing yards and 13 touchdowns.
