The Florida State Seminoles are coming off of a season that they would like to relive over and over again. Jameis Winston won the Heisman and the team won the national championship. Pretty impressive. The 2014-15 college football season is not too far away, so let’s take a look at five bold predictions for 2014.
As much as I would like to say Jameis Winston will win his second Heisman in a row, that is probably not going to happen. Not only will he have to compete against college football’s best players, but he will have a huge target on his back all season long.
Florida State won the national title fair and square last season, but you would have to imagine a team like Alabama would win the title game this time around. Florida State plays some very tough competition this year. If it loses one game, it may not even make the playoff.
The Seminoles will have some tough competition in the ACC this year, but they easily enter the season as the best team in the conference. Florida State could slip up, but only losing one game will not cost the team the ACC title. Plus, teams like Clemson and Louisville lose their QBs.
There are so many different teams that are capable of making the title game. Florida State is clearly one of them. Although I am not predicting them to win it, I am predicting them to make it. Sure, the Seminoles knocked off Auburn last season, but if they play Alabama in the title game, they probably won’t pull off the same feat. That is just one scenario, though.
Florida State has a tough schedule in 2014, but it will still be the favorite going into all of its games. When it is all said and done, the Seminoles will enter the playoff undefeated and will be ranked No. 1 in the country.
