The Alabama Crimson Tide had a disappointing 2013 campaign by their standards, culminating with a loss to the Oklahoma Sooners in the Sugar Bowl. The Tide hope to bounce back and make a run at the new college football playoff in 2014. Even as good as Nick Saban's program is, there are still questions that need to be answered. Here are the five most pressing as we enter the season.

Hearing the talk of some fans and pundits, it would seem as if TJ Yeldon didn't even exist. Yeldon has been one of the best in the SEC at running back the last two years. Even still, Henry is the one who seems to get most people in Tuscaloosa excited. He will push Yeldon for playing time in 2014 without a doubt, but will he rise to starter? My guess is probably not, but both will benefit from competition and both will make their presence felt.

Nick Saban's run at Alabama has continued the long line of great linebackers, of whom C.J. Mosley is the latest. Mosley is gone to the NFL now, leaving a void at resident playmaker at Linebacker U. The Tide have talent at the position with the likes of Reuben Foster and Reggie Ragland on the roster. The smart money, however, is on senior Trey DePriest. He will have a chance to show what he learned from Mosley and be the leader in 2014.

Landon Collins is an elite talent, and this season he needs to show he can be the leader of the secondary. Vinnie Sunseri and Ha Ha Clinton-Dix are gone, passing the torch completely to Collins. The Tide need for him to show he can transition from productive player with good players around him to the one who dominates and has to be game planned for. If Collins does, the sky is the limit for him and the rest of the Tide defense.

A.J. McCarron has completed his illustrious run as quarterback of the Crimson Tide, and Saban reeled in Florida State transfer Jacob Coker to replace the QB. Coker comes to Tuscaloosa amidst a large cloud of hype. Great things are expected of him, which places a lot of pressure on the quarterback. He needs to prove he can stand the heat if the Tide hope to get back to the national championship.

Starting a true freshman at left tackle in the SEC is never an easy proposition, but that's what Alabama plans to do in 2014. Cam Robinson, the massive recruit from the 2014 recruiting class, will take over for NFL pick Cyrus Kouandjio this season. He has the size and talent to compete, and enrolling early will certainly help him get up to speed. But is he ready to face the best pass rushers in the SEC? Only time will tell.
