After surprising the nation last season, the Auburn Tigers face a tough schedule in 2014. Not only are there many tough games on the slate, Gus Malzahn and his team have gone from hunter to hunted for the 2014 season. Quarterback Nick Marshall returns to lead the Tigers as they defend their SEC title.
The Ole Miss Rebels are predicted to be in the SEC West race this season, and they host Auburn on November 1 in Oxford. Any road game in the SEC is a challenge, and the Tigers better not overlook up-and-coming Ole Miss.
The LSU Tigers seem to be at, or near, the top of the SEC West standings each year. This year's game between the SEC's Tigers is in Auburn, which will be an advantage for Nick Marshall and Auburn. This game will be played on October 4.
After last season's miracle win over the Georgia Bulldogs, Auburn must know that Georgia wants revenge. This time, the game is in Athens, and the Bulldogs are hoping to make the home crowd happy with an upset victory on November 15.
For the first time since 2011, Auburn will face the South Carolina Gamecocks. Steve Spurrier's team figures to be in or near the Top 10 of the national rankings all season, so the October 25 showdown should be a good one.
Last season's Iron Bowl was a classic, ending on a 109-yard missed field goal return for a touchdown by Chris Davis. The win gave Auburn the SEC Western Division championship over their arch rivals, the Alabama Crimson Tide. Nick Saban and his team will want to take back what they see as theirs on November 29 in Tuscaloosa.
