Florida State Football: Seminoles Are Likely Landing Spot for 4-Star WR George Campbell

George Campbell, a 4-star receiver out of Tampa, FL trimmed his list to three top teams as of yesterday. In no specific order they were Florida, LSU and Florida State.

He was originally committed to Michigan last year. Most believed the Gators were the clear cut favorite to land Campbell in the early going once he reopened his recruiting process. Since then the feeling is that the Seminoles are his destination of choice. Out of the three schools, LSU probably has the most difficult task of nabbing a pledge from the speedy receiver.

The experts believe he will be announcing his commitment here in the next couple weeks.  They also believe he will be headed to Tallahassee, FL.

Head coach Jimbo Fisher has been high on him since the beginning of his junior season at Tampa Plant. They love his 6-foot-3, 184 pound frame to go along with his physicality and speed. One thing lacking in Campbell’s game is his consistency with catching the ball. Of course, that can be fixed with repetition. Just ask Kelvin Benjamin, who had a phenomenal year last season after he had trouble holding onto the ball his freshman season at Florida State.

He loves competition and won’t shy away from it. That’s exactly what he would get if he were to choose the Seminoles as his resting place. They already boast a trio of talented freshmen who will receive an ample amount of playing time this season, plus a few sophomores who are talented in their own rights. So there will be no shortage of competition next season or even the seasons to come.

At the end of the day I expect Campbell to throw up a tomahawk chop when he makes his announcement in the next couple weeks.
