West Virginia had a difficult season in 2013, mainly because it couldn't stop anyone on the defensive side of the ball. The Mountaineers are entering their second season in the Big 12, and there should be some improvement on Dana Holgorsen's squad. Here are five Mountaineers games you must watch.

This matchup may not look that enticing right now, but it should be a shootout. Both of these teams can score at will, but they can't stop anybody. It should be an entertaining game down in Lubbock midway through the 2014 season.

In their second-to-last game of the season, Bill Snyder and the Kansas State Wildcats come to Morgantown. It's a late-season game, so this one should have plenty of importance. Big 12 title hopes could be at stake for the Wildcats, and the Mountaineers could be playing for a bowl bid.

This should be another entertaining game as the Mountaineers welcome Heisman hopeful Bryce Petty and the Baylor Bears to Morgantown. Last season, West Virginia lost 73-42. It's not out of the question to think that this season's game won't end in a similar way. It should be explosive nonetheless.

Oklahoma always seems to be one of the biggest games on anyone's schedule. The Sooners are the defending Sugar Bowl champions, and the early season matchup could indicate what the rest of West Virginia's 2014 season will be like.

What a way to open up a season. The Mountaineers take on Alabama inside the Georgia Dome. It can go two ways for West Virginia. It could either challenge Alabama, a perennial title contender, or it could fall flat on its face and get smoked in the opening game of the season. Either way, it's a great way to begin the season.
