Saturday's contest between Louisville and Virginia opens up the Atlantic Coast Conference schedule for both programs. It is Louisville's first ACC game, and it promises to be an entertaining contest for the Cardinals. Here are a few things to watch for in this ACC clash.

As Louisville searches for another quarterback to take the place of Teddy Bridgewater, they may have found a solution in Will Gardner. He played only part of last week's game against Murray State, mainly because it was a blowout, but Gardner has been fairly solid in his first two contests.

4. Louisville Defense Will Shine

Everyone is still impressed with how the Cardinals tore apart Miami in the first week of the season. Although it allowed Murray State to score 21 points, you still can't discount this defense and how good a job it will do when it matters most.

3. Bobby Petrino's Comeback Will Continue

Here is a coach who could have thrown everything away following a foolish ride on a motorcycle with a female assistant. Instead, Petrino recommitted to his work and climbed the ladder once again, and here he is with Louisville off to a 2-0 start. Odds are it will be 3-0 following Saturday.

2. Virginia Passing Game Will Sputter

Grayson Lambert and Matt Johns have been mediocre in the first two contests, even as Virginia is off to a 1-1 start. Louisville's defense could pick apart the Cavaliers' passing game and force Virginia to the ground more often. Virginia doesn't have an air assault that can match what Louisville brings to the table.

Even with Virginia at 1-1 entering Saturday, it is not too early to keep an eye on De'Quan Romero. The standout defender already has 20 tackles, including eight against UCLA, and he is a threat to break up passes, recover fumbles, and capitalize on other teams' mistakes.
