Fate intervened, as Baylor erased a 21-point deficit and won on a time-expiring field goal behind quarterback Bryce Petty, who threw for 510 yards and six TDs to lead the nation's top scoring offense. In one of the most-wild comebacks in history, the Bears stared death straight in the face and lived to tell.

After rocking the house in Oxford last week, the Rebels’ defense pounded the Aggies in College Station this weekend. In their first true road test of the season, the Rebels passed with flying colors as their defense forced three turnovers, which included a 75-yard interception return by Cody Prewitt and a fumble recovery -- both touchdowns. The Rebels improved to 6-0 behind quarterback Bo Wallace, as the team continues to take big steps forward.

The premier matchup of the weekend featured newly crowned SEC powers Auburn and Mississippi State battling for supremacy of the West Division. Using a 21-0 blitz in the first quarter, the Bulldogs took control of the game early and rushed for four touchdowns and 223 yards overall. This marked the third straight game that the Bulldogs defeated a top 10 ranked team and the first time it’s happened in 30 years.
