Coming off a bye, Kansas State heads to Norman to take on Oklahoma in a matchup that will go a long way in defining the Big 12 title race. The winner will strengthen their position heading into the home stretch with the loser likely getting stuck on the outside looking in. Trevor Knight will need to step up to keep the Sooners from suffering their second conference loss.

Prediction: Oklahoma 38-34

After an emotional rally last week, Baylor remains one of the few undefeated teams in college football but will have to regroup quickly for their matchup on the road against West Virginia. Morgantown is a difficult place to play and the Mountaineers have looked tough against top-10 competition. This game will test the mental toughness of the Bears and reveal if they are College Football Playoff caliber.

Prediction: Baylor 49-45

Kansas is a mess and Texas Tech has been a major disappointment. Kliff Kingsbury hopes that playing the Jayhawks in Lubbock will help get the Red Raiders into a groove so they can turn things around in 2014 and get bowl eligible. Look for a big day from Davis Webb as Tech snaps their four-game losing streak and gets their first conference win of the season.

Prediction: Texas Tech 35-17

No. 15 Oklahoma State at No. 12 TCU

Oklahoma State looked less than impressive against Kansas last week. TCU let a 21-point fourth quarter lead slip away against Baylor. Both will be looking for better performances this week to keep their Big 12 title hopes alive. Trevone Boykin and Daxx Garman have been pleasant surprises for their team this season and whichever plays better on Saturday will likely lead their team to victory.

Prediction: TCU 42-38

Texas showed some positive growth in their close loss to Oklahoma last week but can’t let up against a game Iowa State squad in Austin. The Cyclones will keep it competitive but a constantly improving Longhorns squad should be able to take care of business in a close contest.

Prediction: Texas 20-14
