SEC Football
Spruce Derden-USA TODAY Sports

We enter Week 8 with a new SEC team at the top of the college football world and crazy division races taking shape. After the last two weeks, Week 8 is somewhat disappointing with a few teams on bye weeks. However, there are still some good matchups and fans will be satisfied with the action. Here are picks and score predictions for every SEC game this week.

The Gamecocks' season has been an extreme disappointment. The favorite pick to win the SEC East, they now sit completely out of the race to get to Atlanta. It would take a complete choke job by the Georgia Bulldogs to get the Gamecocks into the Dome. All of that frustration will be directed this weekend at Furman and the Gamecocks will win big.

This is by far the biggest and most intriguing game of the week. The Tide are at home, coming off an ugly bounce-back win over Arkansas. The Aggies are reeling after losing two straight. Nick Saban's crew is really struggling right now, and this may not be the best time to face an offense like Kevin Sumlin's. The Aggies get the upset on the road and the panic sets in around Tuscaloosa.

The Bulldogs responded to adversity and got a dominating road win against Missouri. Now they must turn around and face a tough Arkansas team. The Razorbacks aren't the gimme win on everyone's schedule like they were thought to be. Still, what they do best is run the ball, and the Bulldogs are No. 2 in the league in stopping the run. Georgia keeps rolling, with or without Todd Gurley.

This game was supposed to have serious SEC East implications, but now it is a lackluster matchup between two struggling teams. Neither the Tigers nor the Gators look very good right now and need a lot of help to matter in the division. The Tigers look like the most competent bunch, so they get the win, but we could be in for some ugly football in The Swamp.

Ole Miss avoided the letdown last week and now the Tennessee Volunteers come to town. Butch Jones and his team are going to beat someone of consequence this season in the SEC, but it just won't be the Rebels. They are too good on both sides of the ball and playing in Oxford is a huge advantage. Ole Miss runs away with this one, continuing their march towards a championship.

The Wildcats look like a program on the rise, and LSU is clearly in rebuild mode. The Tigers have lost too much talent the last couple of years and need a little time for their youngsters to mature. This will be a close, competitive game, and the Wildcats will squeak out a win on the road, continuing an impressive 2014 season.
