The East Carolina Pirates may not have what it takes to make the College Football Playoff this year, but they certainly have what it takes to win the AAC, and knock off the Connecticut Huskies in their next contest.

Connecticut enters this one on a four-game losing streak. In fact, the Huskies have only won one game in 2014. Their defense hasn’t been too terrible, allowing 25.7 points per game, but their offense has been non-existent when it comes to putting points on the scoreboard. Connecticut is only averaging 12.8 points per game on the season. Ouch.

As for the Pirates, they are putting up 41 points per game and allowing 23.8 per game. Needless to say, Connecticut is going to have a very tough time trying to match East Carolina blow for blow. The team’s only loss of the season came against South Carolina by 10 points. Although the Gamecocks have disappointed in 2014, that game was still played on the road for ECU.

QB Shane Carden should have no problem lighting up the Huskies. Before last game, he threw 400+ yards in three contests in a row. Considering Connecticut sits at the bottom of the conference standings, Carden should have no problem getting back to that 400-yard mark.

Look for ECU to rack up the points in this one. Not that the Pirates needed anything else in their favor, but they will also play this one at home. They will more than likely score early and often against Connecticut.

Prediction: Connecticut 10, East Carolina 55
