A few numbers cut Auburn fans to the very core. 1983, 1993, 2004 and 2013 each have their own depressing significance for the Auburn faithful and their desire for more national championships.

Playing in the SEC is like going to the dentist. It’s good for you, but often nerve-racking and painful. One loss in the toughest conference in college football is often just enough to end hopes for a national title.

“Aren’t you the Auburn Tigers?” Auburn fans are so sick of talking about it. We say “War Eagle”, get over it. Nobody’s asking the Crimson Tide about the elephant, or why the Tennessee Volunteers' mascot is a dog, or why the Iowa State Cyclones mascot is a cardinal and the Stanford Cardinal mascot is a tree. The question is valid, but it’s just so played out.

Just ask an Alabama fan for clarification on any and all allegations pointed at the Auburn Tigers in recent years. Try as they might, no evidence of wrongdoing has been found for the recent string of accusations, and they are usually baseless.

Bama fans, just give me one second and I'm sure I can think of something nice to say. Yes, Alabama has a lot more national championships which is clearly a problem, but there is just so much more. The fans constantly gloat, and everyone else is just comparing the Tigers to the Tide. Auburn is good and even great at times, but that’s just never good enough against the Bear, Nick Saban and all that stupid houndstooth.
