Glenn "Bo" Schembechler took over Michigan in 1969 after an apprenticeship under Woody Hayes at Ohio State and a stint at Miami (Ohio). Bo upset Hayes' top-ranked Buckeyes to start the most decorated Michigan coaching career of the past half-century. Bo won 13 Big Ten titles. Bo's famous "The Team, The Team, The Team" speech and staunch loyalty to the Maize and Blue has shaped his legacy in the hearts and minds of Michigan fans everywhere.

Michigan is regularly ranked highly in academic rankings, especially in relation to its main rivals Ohio State and Michigan State. The Wolverines enter the Big House to "The Victors", one of, if not the best fight songs in college football, and jump up to touch the "Go Blue" banner, one of the iconic stadium entrances in college football. From the fall tailgating to the chants in the stadium, a Michigan football experience drips in tradition like very few can.

Michigan boasts 11 national titles, 42 conference titles, 78 consensus All-Americans and three Heisman Trophy winners. From program builder Fielding Yost to innovator Fritz Crisler to reviver Bo Schembechler, Michigan had some of the best coaches in college football. The Wolverines have played in 43 bowl games including 20 Rose Bowl appearances. Few programs can match the history of the nation's all-time leader in wins.
