College Football Top 25 Rankings: Week 10

Entering this weekend, there was one game in particular that many fans had their eyes on. That game was none other than the matchup between the LSU Tigers and Ole Miss Rebels. It did not disappoint one bit. In fact, LSU managed to pull off the upset, and shook up the top 25 rankings for Week 10 in the process.

25. UCLA Bruins (6-2)

It wasn't easy, but the UCLA Bruins still found a way to knock off the Colorado Buffaloes. The Bruins don't really get a break the rest of the season, so they couldn't afford to drop this one.

24. Duke Blue Devils (6-1)

Believe it or not, the Duke Blue Devils are the only team in the ACC with one loss. With that said, Florida State has yet to lose a game. Still, Duke very well could be No. 2 in this conference.

23. West Virginia Mountaineers (6-2)

The West Virginia Mountaineers have already made a lot of noise by beating Baylor and Oklahoma State in back-to-back games, but they could really get the nation's attention by upsetting TCU next. As good as the Horned Frogs looked this weekend, West Virginia looks capable of pulling off the upset.

22. Marshall Thundering Herd (8-0)

Marshall has played a relatively easy schedule compared to the top dogs in the country, but they are still undefeated. Easy schedule or not, that is saying a lot.

21. Clemson Tigers (6-2)

The Clemson Tigers are winners of five games in a row. Still, the team has no shot at making the ACC title game at this rate.

The Utah Utes have managed to beat three solid opponents in a row -- UCLA, Oregon State, USC. It doesn't get any easier for Utah, but if it can somehow finish the season with just one loss, it very well could make a case for the CFP.

19. Nebraska Cornhuskers (7-1)

Despite only having one loss on the season, the Nebraska Cornhuskers would need a miracle to make the College Football Playoff. The team still has a great chance of winning the Big 10, though. That has to count for something.

18. East Carolina Pirates (6-1)

The East Carolina Pirates continue to win. The showdown against UCF can't get here fast enough.

Now that is how you prove all the doubters wrong -- knock off the No. 3-ranked team in the country. LSU can really stir up the pot by beating Alabama next.

Coming off yet another loss, the Oklahoma Sooners needed a bye this week. A spot in the playoff may seem impossible right now, but the Sooners need to finish off the season strong regardless.

15. Arizona Wildcats (6-1)

The Arizona Wildcats managed to drop 59 points on the road against Washington State. They can really impress the crowd by dropping another 59 on the road against the UCLA Bruins next week. Way easier said than done.

It doesn't matter which quarterback Arizona State throws out on the field, it is a great football team. It can show everyone how great it is by beating Utah and Notre Dame next.

The Kansas State Wildcats need all the momentum they can get, as they will play Oklahoma State, TCU, West Virginia, Kansas and Baylor to finish out the season. Ready, set, go!

12. Ohio State Buckeyes (6-1)

The Ohio State Buckeyes kept their slim hopes of making the CFP alive by knocking off Penn State in OT. A win is a win, but the Buckeyes have to be on top of their game if they plan on beating Michigan State.

11. Baylor Bears (6-1)

Not much to say about the Baylor Bears -- they had the week off. They should have no problem getting back on track against Kansas in Week 10.

Michigan State fans probably loved seeing their beloved Spartans knock off the Michigan Wolverines by the score of 35-11. The Spartans will get next week off, but then it is on against Ohio State.

Another top team in college football that had a bye week. Notre Dame will get Navy next. After that, it will have another very tough challenge against the Sun Devils of Arizona State.

TCU scored 82 points on Saturday. 82 points! The offense is deadly, the defense is deadly and the team in general is just ... deadly. For opposing teams, that is.

7. Oregon Ducks (7-1)

The Oregon Ducks may have given up 41 points against Cal, but I would take 59 points any day if it meant giving up 41. Regardless, Oregon is in great shape right now.

6. Georgia Bulldogs (6-1)

Say what you want about an SEC East team being ranked this high, but the Bulldogs have not lost since Sept. 13. It would certainly be something if they ended up winning the SEC title this year, assuming they make it.

Thanks a lot, LSU. Now we don't get to see Mississippi State and Ole Miss enter the Egg Bowl with perfect records. That is a major bummer. The Rebels just found out that winning at Death Valley is never an easy thing to do.

4. Auburn Tigers (6-1)

Auburn managed to escape South Carolina. That was a must considering the Tigers still have to play Ole Miss, Georgia and Alabama. Yeah, life in the SEC is brutal.

3. Alabama Crimson Tide (7-1)

Would you look at that, the Alabama Crimson Tide are almost at the top of the rankings again. If they plan on staying this high, making the SEC title game and making the playoff, then they must win out. With that said, Alabama still has to play LSU, Mississippi State and Auburn.

2. Florida State Seminoles (7-0)

Florida State had the week off. Looking at the Seminoles' schedule, it is hard to picture them not winning the rest of their games.

The contest with Kentucky was a little too close for comfort, but the Mississippi State Bulldogs still managed to pull off the victory. Arkansas won't be any easier next week.
