The TCU Horned Frogs may enter this matchup as the favorite, but the West Virginia Mountaineers have what it takes to win the Big 12 title.

The Mountaineers have now won four games in a row, including victories over Baylor and Oklahoma State. Thanks to a three-point loss against the Bears, the Horned Frogs only enter this game on a two-game winning streak. However, they scored a whopping 82 points against Texas Tech last game.

In the process, QB Trevone Boykin got everyone’s attention by throwing seven touchdowns. Needless to say, if TCU’s offense stays that hot, it won’t only beat West Virginia, but every other team it faces as well.

The Mountaineers’ offense isn’t too shabby either, and actually scored 34 points against Oklahoma State on the road. It also only gave up 10 points in that contest.

Since West Virginia will be playing at home, this game will be evened out some. Still, not only do I think TCU is a top team in the Big 12, but the entire nation as well. The rankings would agree.

When it is all said and done, TCU very well could be representing the Big 12 in the College Football Playoff. Although the matchup against Kansas State could be between two potential top 10 teams (K-State is currently ranked No. 11), the Horned Frogs cannot look past West Virginia, and they won’t.

This could be a high-scoring affair, but TCU is playing great ball right now.

Clint Trickett and co. are good enough to pull off the upset, but they will be handed their third loss of 2014 in this game.

Prediction: TCU 42, West Virginia 30
