Since the start of the 2014 campaign, fans have been calling for Michigan head coach Brady Hoke’s job. While they have yet to see the proverbial ax fall at this point in the season, hopes are high after it was announced on Friday morning that Michigan AD Dave Brandon would be resigning from his position.

A former football player for the Wolverines, Brandon joined Michigan as the AD back in 2010. His first order of business was to hire Hoke, who has quickly become the laughing stock of a once-prestigious football program. Now in the midst of one of the worst seasons in program history, the 3-5 Wolverines are on the verge of missing their first bowl game since Brandon and Hoke came to town.

On top of the on-field results, the duo also received heavy criticism for the decision to play backup quarterback Shane Morris earlier this season after he suffered an apparent head injury. Put simply, it’s been a mess in Ann Arbor and changes needed to be made. With Brandon now out the picture, Hoke will likely be the next domino to fall. The fans and students have been fervent about their displeasure towards the coaching staff and higher ups, only showing support for the players.

Now that one of the two believed reasons behind the program’s downfall has been removed, the other piece (Hoke) is sure to follow. We’ll see how the situation unfolds in the coming days, but we’d put our money on Brandon’s resignation creating a chain reaction that sees Hoke removed sooner rather than later.
