Not many teams have experienced the constant rise in rankings that the TCU Horned Frogs have had the pleasure of experiencing this year. The Horned Frogs have gone from unranked all the way to No. 4 in the latest polls, making them legitimate national title contenders. The Kansas Jayhawks don’t have much of a chance of beating TCU, but flukier things have happened before.

Trevone Boykin has been one of the best quarterbacks in the nation, leading the eighth-best passing attack in the land. Boykin has passed for 2,691 yards, 23 touchdowns and four interceptions while completing 58 percent of his passes. The junior quarterback has also been a force in the run game, rushing for 546 yards and seven touchdowns, trailing only Aaron Green‘s 549 yards and four scores. B.J. Catalon is the next back behind Boykin, rushing for 493 yards and a team-high 10 touchdowns. Josh Doctson has been the team’s leading receiver, catching a team-high 42 passes for 655 yards and seven touchdowns while Kolby Listenbee has 30 catches for 572 yards and three scores. Deante’ Gray has also been a force in the receiving game, catching 29 passes for 486 yards and seven TDs.

After starting the season with Montell Cozart at quarterback and Charlie Weis as the head coach, both have changed since then. Junior quarterback Michael Cummings has taken over as the team’s starter, passing for 1,160 yards and five touchdowns while throwing just two interceptions, faring much better than Cozart did. Nick Harwell has been Cummings’ favorite target, catching 37 passes for 401 yards and four touchdowns. Jimmay Mundine and Nigel King are the next two viable targets, catching 33 passes for 400 yards with two TDs and 23 passes for 384 yards, respectively. Corey Avery leads the run game with 538 yards and four touchdowns with De’Andre Mann close behind, rushing for 362 yards.

Defensively, Kansas has been one of the worst teams in the Big 12. The Jayhawks have been severely ineffective this season thanks, in large part, to a 90th-ranked scoring defense and 96th-ranked total defense. The Horned Frogs have fared better, but still aren’t considered an elite defensive unit. Ranking 31st in points allowed and 52nd in total yards allowed per game, TCU has the upper hand in this one.

The Horned Frogs will travel to Kansas to take on the Jayhawks at 3 p.m. EST on Saturday, Nov. 15. The game will be broadcasted on FOX Sports 1.

PREDICTION: TCU 42, Kansas 16
