Bill Cosby Once Made a Notre Dame Football Player Cry In Public

Bill Cosby

With each passing day there seems to be another story from Bill Cosby‘s past that gets brought back to the public’s attention. Most of them have unfortunately been sexual assault allegations. This story is connected to the world of sports, but it doesn’t make Cosby look any better as a person.

Back in 1989, Cosby was invited to speak to a group of around 50 African American graduates at the University of Notre Dame. During his speech he asked Dean Brown (an All-American) what his GPA was. Brown told him 2.5, which apparently prompted Cosby to say, “2.5 is OK if you have a mental disorder. You should be ashamed of yourself. You should have worked harder.”

Brown responded (in tears) by telling the comedian that he did his best. But Cosby cut him off and said, “you didn’t do enough.”

Obviously, this story is irrelevant in the scheme of things when compared to subjects as serious as sexual assault. But it is another indicator that maybe Cosby isn’t the person America thought he was. The more we learn about Bill Cosby, the more he seems like a creepy jerk.
