Ladies and gentlemen, this one is for all the marbles, when it comes to the Big Ten title game, that is.
The Ohio State Buckeyes already clinched their spot, but who they will play remains to be seen. I will tell you one thing, though, it will either be the Minnesota Golden Gophers or Wisconsin Badgers, who just so happen to play each other in the last game of the season. The schedule makers couldn’t have planned that one better.
As much as I want to say Minnesota has a shot in this game, I just don’t know. Not with the way RB Melvin Gordon has been playing.
Wisconsin has been on quite the roll and is one of the most underrated teams in the country. Ohio State could find that out here shortly if the Badgers knock off the Golden Gophers. For what it’s worth, Wisconsin has now won six games in a row. That’s right, it hasn’t lost a game since Oct. 4.
Minnesota, on the other hand, lost a battle against the Buckeyes on Nov. 15. So, it is only right that Wisconsin would get a chance at Ohio State. After all, the two teams haven’t played each other yet.
Regardless, there is a bunch on the line in this game. Will either team make the playoff if they can win the rest of their games? Nope, but a spot in the Big 10 title game is not a bad consolation prize.
Look for Gordon to do his thing in this one, which will be the difference.
Prediction: Minnesota 24, Wisconsin 38
