Bowl season is just around the corner, which means the New Year’s Six bowls are quickly approaching as well. Who will actually make those bowl games remains to be seen, as teams in the top 10 are dropping on a weekly basis (Mississippi State and Auburn would know all about that).

With so much on the line entering championship week, let’s try to predict the New Year’s Six bowl matchups.

This matchup would be a dream come true. Well, for the fans, that is. I am sure both of these teams would rather be playing in the playoff, but I sure wouldn’t mind seeing Mississippi State and Ohio State going at it.

Boise State has actually had a pretty quiet season, but a good one nonetheless. Considering Ole Miss just dropped the Bulldogs of Mississippi State, and reside in the SEC West, it would be very interesting to see if the Broncos could hang with the Rebels.

Georgia Tech will be playing in its conference title game this week, while Michigan State will not. Regardless, these are two of the better teams in the sport, and a battle between them would be must-watch TV.

TCU still has a very good shot at making the playoff. At this rate, it is going to be between the Horned Frogs and the Baylor Bears.

Arizona will take on Oregon in the Pac-12 championship, and has been solid all season long despite having two losses entering this week.

Rose Bowl: No. 2 Oregon vs. No. 3 Florida State

Who knows if Florida State will make it out of the ACC championship alive. The same thing can be said about Oregon making it out of the Pac-12 title game without losing as well. Still, this is a matchup that I am sure many people want to see (myself included).

Sugar Bowl: No. 1 Alabama vs. No. 4 Baylor

I am sure many people would agree that the Alabama Crimson Tide are the No. 1 team in the nation. Baylor at No. 4 may be a stretch, but beating Kansas State to finish off the year could do wonders, and the Bears did beat TCU earlier in the season.

This is probably the championship that many people are predicting, and man would it be awesome. Although Oregon QB Marcus Mariota could end up winning the Heisman, the Crimson Tide look pretty solid right now, and are many people’s favorites to win the championship.
