The Oregon Ducks are having a great season. To no one’s surprise, so is their quarterback. Marcus Mariota really cashed in on the awards this year. After all, he managed to take home the Maxwell (Player of the Year), Walter Camp Player of the Year and Davey O’Brien (nation’s best QB) awards.

Mariota managed to win those trophies by putting up very impressive stats. It helps that his team is in the College Football Playoff, which, of course, means the Ducks have a great shot of winning the national championship this year. Oh yeah, he was also the best player in the sport, which usually helps a player’s cause.

Mariota has thrown 3,783 yards, 38 touchdowns and just two interceptions on the year. Let me say that again, Mariota has only thrown TWO interceptions on the year. May I remind you that the Ducks play in the Pac-12, which is easily one of the best conferences in college football on a yearly basis. But wait, there’s more! Mariota has also managed to rush for 669 yards and 14 more TDs on the ground.

Yeah, Mariota is definitely deserving of all the praise he is receiving this season. Heck, who knows where Oregon would be without him.

While winning all this fancy hardware must be nice, I am sure the national championship is really what Mariota is after. If all else fails, he has a very good chance of coming away with this year’s Heisman Trophy, which is always one heck of a feat.

Whether if Mariota wins the Heisman or not, all of these trophies might not mean a whole lot if the star QB can’t lead his team to victory in the Rose Bowl against the Florida State Seminoles. Regardless, Marcus Mariota has clearly had an amazing year.

Here’s to his team winning the national championship, and Mariota having a successful career in the NFL.
