Outside of the playoff matchups, no bowl game is getting as much attention as the Peach Bowl. TCU dropped three positions and was left out of the “final four” after winning by 52 points, while Ole Miss played spoiler against Mississippi State in the Egg Bowl. Here are five bold predictions for what is arguably the most intriguing matchup of the bowl season.

The Ole Miss offense has been screen-happy all season, so expect Hugh Freeze to try to get Bo Wallace into a rhythm early with some high percentage throws. With the speedy weapons that the Rebels have on the outside, it certainly makes sense to try to get the ball out quickly into space.

The Rebels’ No. 1 ranked scoring defense will face their toughest test of the season against the high-octane Horned Frogs’ offense, but don’t expect TCU’s No. 2 scoring offense ranking to phase the Landsharks. The offense, led by star quarterback Trevone Boykin, has yet to be held to fewer than 30 points, but if there is a team that can do it, it is Ole Miss.

3. Bo Wallace Will Turn the Ball Over -- A Lot

Throughout his career, the only thing that has been consistent about Bo Wallace’s performance on the field has been inconsistency. Gary Patterson is sure to dial up a number of different looks in an effort to confuse the senior signal-caller, who will undoubtedly be looking to make a statement in his last game with the Rebels. Expect Wallace to try to do too much at times and get himself into trouble as a result.

2. TCU’s Offense Will Come Out Flat

This one is grounded in psychology. There are two ways that TCU can respond to being left out of the playoff: come out ready to prove to everybody that they deserved to be in the final four, or come out flat after the massive letdown of dropping three spots after winning by 52 points. My guess is that it will be the latter, especially against the swarming Ole Miss defense.

1. Ole Miss Will Cover the Spread

The Rebels come into the game as three-point underdogs, but Ole Miss is 8-1-1 against the spread in their last 10 bowl games, while TCU is 0-5 ATS over their last five. While past trends don’t necessarily mean anything, the disparity between the bowl performances by the two teams is certainly interesting.
