USC and Nebraska will square off in the 37th annual Holiday Bowl on December 27. Nebraska will be making its fourth appearance in the Holiday Bowl (2-1 record), while USC will be making its first appearance. Here are five bold predictions for the matchup in San Diego.

Kessler has quietly gone about his business this season, completing more than 70 percent of his passes for 3,505 yards and 36 touchdown passes, with only four interceptions. Kessler has raised his quarterback rating by 20 points, from 148.8 in 2013 to 168.8 in 2014. Kessler will finish the season on a high note, tossing four touchdown passes against the Cornhuskers to hit the 40-touchdown plateau for the year.

4. Ameer Abdullah Will Rush For Two Touchdowns

Abdullah has flourished in Lincoln after being an underrated recruit out of Alabama. He has proven all the doubters wrong, racking up 4,500 career rushing yards and 38 rushing touchdowns. Abdullah will do everything he can to keep the Cornhuskers in the game, eclipsing the 100-yard mark for the eighth time this season and scoring two touchdowns to close out his career with 40 rushing touchdowns.

Defensive lineman Leonard Williams, wide receiver Nelson Agholor and running back Javorius “Buck” Allen will all declare for the NFL Draft. Williams is considered a top-five pick, and has the potential to be the No. 1 overall pick. Agholor has been a dynamic playmaker for the Trojans and will eclipse the 100-reception mark against Nebraska. Allen has been productive this season rushing for 1,337 yards, but should be a mid-to-late round pick.

2. Randy Gregory Will Cause Problems For Young Offensive Line

Gregory, another sure-fire top selection in the upcoming NFL Draft, will present a tough challenge for the young USC offensive line. Gregory led the Cornhuskers with seven sacks and 16 quarterback hurries, along with 10 tackles for loss. Gregory will be matched up against true freshman Toa Lobendahn and will rack up two sacks in his final game in a Nebraska uniform.

USC owns a 3-0-1 record all-time against Nebraska, and the Trojans will add another victory to their total in the Holiday Bowl. USC has too much firepower for the Nebraska defense to contain for an entire game. While Abdullah will keep the Cornhuskers close, Kessler and the offense will ultimately pull away to keep the Trojans’ perfect record against the Cornhuskers intact.
