The season for firing head coaches should be all but over in college football, but there are a lot of coaches who still have jobs but should not feel safe. Most college coaches are only one bad season away from being on the hot seat, and many are already there. Here are 10 college football coaches who will start 2015 on the hot seat.

10. Mike MacIntyre, Colorado

MacIntyre has spent just two years in Boulder, but the 2014 campaign was worse than 2013. Granted, Colorado plays in one of the toughest divisions in the country, but they have just one conference win in the last two seasons. The third year was when MacIntyre made a big leap while at San Jose State, so there's hope the third year could be the charm for him at Colorado. But with another two-win season he could be out of a job.

9. Willie Taggart, South Florida

Two years into his tenure at USF, Taggart has a 6-18 record with the Bulls. There was some progress from year one to year two, but the Bulls had one of the worst offenses in college football in 2014. They've even struggled to beat FCS teams. South Florida has been down for a few years, and if Taggart doesn't prove that he's got the program on track, USF may choose to go in a different direction at head coach.

8. Todd Monken, Southern Mississippi

Monken won three games with Southern Miss in 2014 after just one win the previous year. But that still gives him a record of 4-20 over two seasons with the Golden Eagles, and that's far from where the program was in Larry Fedora's last year of 2011. If Southern Miss doesn't take a big step forward in 2015, there will be little faith in Monken being the right coach for the program.

Rhoads signed a 10-year contract after the 2011 season, so he has a lot of years left on his deal. That will make it tough to fire him, but things have gotten bad in Ames over the past couple of years, putting Rhoads on the hot seat. The Cyclones have been to three bowl games in six years under Rhoads, but they are 5-19 the past two seasons and were winless in conference in 2014. Something has to change next season.

6. Norm Chow, Hawaii

Chow was a great coordinator for over a decade before finally getting a chance to be a head coach, but his first three years as the head man in Hawaii have not gone well. A 4-9 record in 2014 showed some improvement, so Chow should get some slack. But with a record of 8-29 over his three years in charge at Hawaii, Chow better get to a bowl game in 2015 or his days of being a head coach could be over.

5. Mike London, Virginia

London was really feeling the heat heading into 2014, but Virginia played well this season and got him a reprieve. But the Cavaliers still failed to get to a bowl game, putting London back on the hot seat. In five seasons under London, Virginia has made it to just one bowl game, so it could be bowl or bust for London in 2015.

4. Paul Petrino, Idaho

Petrino's first endeavor as a head coach has not gone well, as he's 2-21 at Idaho in two seasons. No one's saying that Idaho is an easy place to win, which is why he hasn't been fired after two wins in two years. But at some point he has to show some kind of promise. Most of Idaho's losses were lopsided in 2014, so Petrino has a lot of work in front of him if he expects to win games in 2015 and keep his job.

3. Trent Miles, Georgia State

Miles controls a program that just came into existence in 2010, so he's going to get the benefit of the doubt. But Georgia State is 1-23 in two seasons under Miles. It's going to take some time for the Panthers to get up to speed with other FBS teams, but they got shellacked week after week in 2014. If Miles can't put together a more competitive team, Georgia State may look elsewhere for a coach after 2015.

2. Doug Martin, New Mexico State

Back-to-back 2-10 seasons in his first two years at New Mexico State has Martin on the hot seat. In seven years as the head coach at Kent State, he never had a winning season. So despite plenty of experience as a head coach, Martin has been short on success and he seems to be running out of chances. New Mexico State is going to be a difficult program to turn around, but another two-win season in 2015 and Martin may no longer have that chance.

Hazell put together a brilliant season at Kent State in 2012, but he has not been able to continue that success at Purdue. The Boilermakers have been the worst team in the Big 10 under Hazell over the past two seasons, with a combined record of 4-20, and just one win in conference play. Purdue isn't going to compete for conference championships, but they need to at least be respectable. If Hazell can't accomplish that, he'll be gone in 2015.
