Many believed that Ohio State did not deserve to be in the College Football Playoff over TCU or Baylor, but there's no question about that now. It was clear that the Buckeyes were deserving of making the Final Four after beating Alabama. Going forward, Ohio State will have a chance to beat Oregon for the National Championship. Here are five reasons why the Buckeyes will win it all.

Although he's just a redshirt freshman, Eli Apple has emerged as one of the top cover cornerbacks in the nation. Apple was able to limit Amari Cooper and DeAndrew White for much of the night. Although Oregon doesn't feature a top wide receiver, they are extremely confusing with their fake screen plays as Florida State saw in the Rose Bowl. Apple is playing out of his mind, and he will be able to shut down Darren Carrington.

There isn't a better deep-ball receiver in college football than Devin Smith. Over three-quarters of Smith's touchdowns have been more than 20 yards. Smith is a game-changer and a true burner. He is a great route-runner, and he is too dynamic and explosive for defenses to leave just one guy on him. Smith is going to have a big game against a team that will start a true freshman.

If you didn't know about Ezekiel Elliott yesterday, I'm sure you know about him by now. Elliott carried the football 20 times for 230 yards and two touchdowns. Another thing about Elliott is he is sure-handed. He rarely turns the football over, which is something Florida State running back Dalvin Cook did two times against Oregon. Elliott won't do that in the National Championship.

Is there a better defensive line combination in the nation than Ohio State's duo of Joey Bosa and Michael Bennett? Bosa is the guy many believe to be the next J.J. Watt, but he's still just a sophomore. Bennett, however, is seen as this year's best three-technique defensive tackle. The duo in the trenches will be no match for Oregon. This combination, as well as Noah Spence, is the best defensive line Oregon will face all season.

Urban Meyer said it would be a process when he came to Ohio State in 2011. However since 2011, Meyer has a record of 37-3. That record is unbelievable considering his team was banned from postseason play in 2012. Although Jimbo Fisher is a good head coach, there is no question that Meyer is better. Even though Oregon has the best player in the nation in Marcus Mariota, head coach Mark Helfrich will be no match for Meyer.
