Top 5 College Football Recruiting Classes After National Signing Day

National Signing Day has never been more important in this new age of College Football, and the usual suspects were able to round up solid classes on the final day of recruiting. Some fared better than others, but you can bet that Nick Saban featured prominently in an intense decision making day. Urban Meyer's team is absent from this list, however, there are plenty of recruits to make noise about. Here are my top five classes.

WR Tyron Johnson out of New Orleans might be the jewel of this class, but G Maea Tehema will be a solid contributor for years to come. Les Miles continues building a solid program in Louisiana, and the LSU Tigers will have great success behind the defensive play of newly recruited CB Kevin Tolliver.

The Tennessee Volunteers did their best in-state recruiting in years, but they were also able to land some great talent from out of state. RB Alvin Lamar is a transfer student, and he will be a fine addition along with DT Kahlil McKenzie and DE Kyle Phillips.

Head coach Jimbo Fisher has some work to do. His program fell into disarray at times behind the erratic behavior of Jameis Winston. Their recruiting class is elite on the defensive end, with players like S Derwin James, CB Tarvarus McFadden and DE Josh Sweat all coming to Tallahassee.

Are the USC Trojans back in business? Signing G Chuma Edoga out of Georgia was a huge recruiting success, and they will also welcome a couple elite prospects from California in CB Iman Marshall and DT Rasheem Green.

Nick Saban should never be underestimated when it comes to recruiting. He nabbed QB Blake Barnett to help solidify this class, and the head coach should have his Alabama Crimson Tide in the title hunt next season without a doubt. Six five-star prospects will definitely not hurt his cause.
