When you truly want something, you have to go after it. That is exactly what Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Cardale Jones has done and it has paid off.
After watching his teammate, running back Ezekiel Elliott, throw out the first pitch prior to a game for his hometown St. Louis Cardinals, Jones let it be known that he wanted in on some of the action.
Perhaps seeing Elliott have that moment at home while throwing a strike ignited the competitive spirit in Jones, because he tweeted out to his hometown Cleveland Indians that he was hoping to have that some opportunity.
I’m just saying @Indians @EzekielElliott thinks his hometown loves him more than my hometown loves me because he throw out the first pitch

Reasonable request, right?
Well, the Indians appeared to think so too, because they tweeted back to Jones not too long after his initial tweet to schedule a date and get his info.

Whether Jones can throw as successful as a pitch as Elliott remains to be seen, but we know there will be a competition to see whose was better.
Cardale obviously wants to be like me
