Notre Dame Football Everett Golson

The Florida State Seminoles may have lost their Heisman quarterback in Jameis Winston, but it appears they are about to land another solid QB in Everett Golson. Talking about having all the luck.

According to 247sports.com, Florida State is the front-runner to land the former Notre Dame QB.

First question: Is Golson as good as Winston? That can be answered with a simple no. However, Golson did lead the Fighting Irish to the title game not too long ago, and he is coming off a decent season. Golson may have lost the starting spot, but he did throw for 3,445 yards and 29 TDs last season.

Considering FSU should be ranked in the top 25 with or without Golson, you could say it is set for the 2015 season. Of course, the biggest issue is not having a QB with experience. Well, Golson has plenty of that.

Although calling the Seminoles the No. 1 team in the country, assuming they land Golson, would simply be wrong, the team could certainly compete for the ACC title and a spot in the playoff.

Head coach Jimbo Fisher continues to recruit talented players, and Golson could be next.
