The Minnesota Golden Gophers have started to get it going under Jerry Kill with eight wins in back-to-back seasons. They've become a Big 10 team that's on the rise and may be on the verge of competing for a spot in the conference championship game. That means the Golden Gophers will find themselves in a slew of marquee games in 2015, and here are five games that fans have to check out.

Iowa is one of Minnesota's top rivals, and a prime-time game late in the season is certainly going to be circled on the Golden Gophers' schedule. Minnesota has started to turn the tide in a rivalry that Iowa has dominated for the most part of the past two decades, and if the Golden Gophers are going to take their program to the next level, Iowa is a team they have to beat on a yearly basis.

There's not much to be excited about with regard to Minnesota's non-conference schedule, except the season opener against TCU. The Horned Frogs had little trouble with Minnesota last year, but this time around the Golden Gophers will get TCU at home in Minneapolis. This game will help kick off the college football season, and being on a Thursday night in prime-time during opening weekend, this is a game to watch.

Jim Harbaugh going to Michigan will definitely add a new wrinkle to the Little Brown Jug. It's also pertinent to note that the Golden Gophers won the trophy last year for just the second time since 1986. Michigan has been used to winning the Little Brown Jug, and Harbaugh will want to get it back after last year, putting pressure on Minnesota to retain the trophy. This game is already slated for prime time.

The Golden Gophers gave Ohio State a tough game last season, losing by just seven points, and that was when the Buckeyes were starting to hit their stride on their way to winning the national championship. Ohio State could be even better this season, but Minnesota will once again get a chance to take it down on its way to another championship. This game is a huge opportunity for Minnesota to earn a signature win for the program.

Not only is Wisconsin one of Minnesota's top rivals despite the Golden Gophers losing 11 straight, but the Badgers are the team that Minnesota will have to beat if it's going to find its way to the Big 10 Title Game. This is Minnesota's season finale as well as its senior day, and if things go the Golden Gophers' way in 2015, this will be their biggest game of the season -- and possibly the biggest game they've played in years.
