The Clemson Tigers are looking to make a run at the ACC title in 2015 as the landscape of the conference undergoes a major shift this fall. Their chances of being title contenders got a major boost this week with the news that their young star at quarterback, Deshaun Watson, has been cleared to resume football activities ahead of fall camp.

Watson was a phenomenon in 2014, playing his way into the starting lineup as a freshman. He ended up playing in eight games, starting five, throwing for 1,466 yards, rushing for 200 yards, and scoring 19 total touchdowns. He struggled to stay healthy, however, missing three games with an injured throwing hand before suffering the knee injury that required surgery last December.

When he was on the field, Watson was an electrifying playmaker that gave Tigers’ fans high hopes for the future of the program. His potential to be a special player was crystal clear to anyone that watched him play. With the weapons around him at Clemson, there was plenty of reason to be optimistic about the Tigers making a run at that elusive ACC title this season…as long as Watson got healthy.

Now that he’s cleared that hurdle, the anticipation for this offense can really start to kick into high gear. Watson has that unique spark to be a great football player and lead Clemson to new heights in 2015. If he continues to stay healthy and hone his craft, there’s no telling how high his game will go. Will he prove to be the missing piece of the puzzle for the Tigers’ title run?
