Line: Alabama (-10.5)

College football is finally back! And if it is going to start, it might as well start with a bang.

Said bang will be the Wisconsin Badgers taking on the Alabama Crimson Tide in the very first week of the season. It might only be the first week, but this game is huge for both sides. It could be the difference between playing in the College Football Playoff and not even making a major bowl.

One of the biggest storylines entering this battle revolves around Corey Clement. Gone are the days of Melvin Gordon running wild for the Badgers. Although Gordon was one of the best players in the game last season, Clement should be more than ready to take over as the starting RB. After all, he is coming off a season in which he rushed for 949 yards and nine touchdowns — if you can believe that.

On Alabama’s end, Tide fans are probably (nervously) looking forward to their new QB. Blake Sims‘ time in college football is done, and it is now up to Jake Coker (or whoever Nick Saban decides to go with) to take over. No matter who Saban does end up handing the keys to the offense to, just remember this: Alabama’s defense should be fierce, and running back Derrick Henry is literally a monster (6-foot-3, 242 pounds).

Henry will contend for the Heisman, and he is also coming off a season in which he racked up 990 yards and 11 TDs on the ground.

Both teams enter the season ranked, but it is Alabama who enters the season with a top five ranking. And it is Alabama who will win this game thanks to its defense and Henry, which will get it one step closer to the playoff.

Game on, folks.

PREDICTION: Badgers 10, Crimson Tide 21
